The Leader of the Ona Ara Legislative Arm of Government, Hon. Abolade Femi Yerima, has extended warm congratulations and heartfelt commendation to Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi on his recent elevation to the prestigious chieftaincy title of Ajia Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The elevation, which took place on Friday, May 9, 2025, was conferred by His Imperial Majesty, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin Ige I, the newly enthroned Olubadan of Ibadanland, during a grand traditional ceremony attended by notable monarchs, dignitaries, political leaders, and cultural enthusiasts from across Oyo State and beyond.
Hon. Yerima described the elevation of Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi — the Asiwaju of Ona Ara and a prominent philanthropist and industrialist — as “a well-deserved honour that speaks volumes about his unwavering dedication to the development of Ibadanland, particularly Ona Ara Local Government.”
He noted that Chief Sanusi’s elevation further cements his legacy as a bridge-builder, cultural ambassador, and servant-leader whose contributions to youth empowerment, hospitality, and grassroots governance remain unparalleled.
“As a son of the soil and pride of Ona Ara, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi continues to inspire hope, vision, and progress. His new title, Ajia Olubadan, is not only a mark of royal recognition but also a symbol of the trust and admiration the people have in his leadership,” Yerima stated.
The Legislative Leader urged the people of Ona Ara and Ibadan at large to continue supporting Chief Sanusi in all his endeavours, noting that his growing influence at both traditional and political levels is a reflection of divine grace, hard work, and the voice of the people.
