The Barrister Sharafadeen Alli (BSA) Political Support Group in Ona-Ara Local Government Area has declared that the people of Ona-Ara are fully prepared to deliver massive and unprecedented votes for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant, Senator (Barrister) Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, in the 2027 general election.
In a statement jointly issued by the Ona-Ara Coordinator of BSA, Honourable Oyedeji Ifeoluwa, and co-signed by Hon. Babatunde Morenikeji, the group described the people of Ona-Ara as politically conscious, intellectually grounded and socially minded citizens who are determined to support a candidate with the competence, experience and capacity to deliver genuine dividends of democracy.
The group expressed deep dissatisfaction with what it described as the poor state of infrastructure and developmental neglect in Ona-Ara Local Government Area under the current administration in Oyo State.
According to the statement, the people of Ona-Ara have waited long enough for meaningful development and are now determined to embrace a new political direction in 2027.
“We have seen what the current administration in Oyo State can do. The road from Ariyo to Odeyale has been completely abandoned, and that stands as practically the only project this administration has shown to Ona-Ara in the past eight years.
“Even the Olorunsogo-Ariyo Road, which the government claims to have completed, is already suffering structural damage in several parts,” Hon. Ifeoluwa stated.
He added that the people of Ona-Ara have resolved to make their votes count in the next governorship election.
“We trust our people in Ona-Ara. In 2027, we will vote massively for Barrister Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli to bring an end to developmental stagnation and usher in a new era of purposeful and people-oriented governance,” he said.
The BSA group also commended the recent remarks by the Gbonka Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, over what he described as the poor performance of the current administration in Oyo State.
According to the group, the traditional chief demonstrated courage and patriotism by speaking on issues affecting the development and future of the state.
“The Gbonka Olubadan knows far more than what some of us may see, and he has taken a bold and patriotic step by rejecting the continuation of a government characterized by what many have described as high-handedness and poor delivery of democratic dividends,” Hon. Ifeoluwa added.
The group further maintained that Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli remains one of the most qualified and experienced political leaders capable of steering Oyo State towards greater development.
It recalled Alli’s long and distinguished record of public service across various levels of governance, describing him as a seasoned administrator with a deep understanding of grassroots development, public administration and legislative responsibilities.
According to the statement, Senator Alli served meritoriously as Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government Area, where he contributed significantly to the development of grassroots administration.
He also served as Secretary to the Oyo State Government, bringing administrative experience and stability to the machinery of government, as well as Chairman of Odu’a Investment Company Limited, where he played a strategic role in advancing regional economic interests and promoting prudent management of collective assets.
The group also highlighted his current role as Senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District, noting his contributions to legislative oversight, constituency development and quality representation at the National Assembly.
“With his proven integrity, competence, administrative experience and wealth of knowledge in governance, Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli is exceptionally prepared to take Oyo State to greater heights.
“We therefore call on all sons and daughters of Ona-Ara Local Government Area to rise collectively, mobilise massively and work towards ensuring total victory for Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli in 2027.
“Our collective determination is to ensure the emergence of a government that will deliver genuine, equitable and sustainable dividends of democracy to every part of Oyo State,” the statement concluded.
