The honourable representing Lagelu State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Olajide Akintunde Emmanuel has commended the governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Seyi Makinde over a letter the governor sent to the house wish asked for the empowerment of Barr. Bayo Lawal as acting governor while the governor is on vacation.
Hon. Olajide also known as AKT gave the commendation while featuring on Raypower Ibadan current affairs programme tagged; Politics Today on Monday, anchored by the Award Winning Broadcast Journalist Olayemi Afolabi.
His words “Governor Makinde deserved commendation for transiting a letter to us (House of Assembly) which made Barr. Bayo Lawal acting Governor of Oyo State. You know nature does not support vacuum and the law asked for it if the governor will be away for vacation”
Asked to comment about the suspension of Ido Local Government Chairman by the Councilors, been the House Committee Chairman on local government and chieftaincy matters, AKT said ” Those Councilors are in order”
On his vision to see that dividends of democracy are accelerated across the 33 local government council in Oyo State while performing his oversight foundations as the new Chairman of House Committee on local government and chieftaincy matters, Hon. Olajide Akintunde Emmanuel AKT said ” I don’t know what the Speaker, right Honourable Debo Ogundoyin saw in me by appointing me but we will perform our overnight foundations very well by constantly monitoring chairmen at the council. However, people thought my portfolio is all about local government administration but also vital are culture, tradition because of our Obas and honour”
However, both the presenter, Afolabi and the guest, AKT burst to laughter after serious engagement when the presenter asked about how the honourable play his politics in Lagelu local government considering his gentility which ran contrary to the volatile nature of Lagelu local government politics.
