The Labour Party Candidate for Egbeda and Ona Ara Federal Constituency of Oyo State, Hon. (Dr.) Akintomi Ojetunde has promised to ensure adequate representation of the constituents at the green chamber of National Assembly, if elected at the poll this coming weekend.
Dr. Ojetunde made the pledge while fielding questions from constituents at the Ona Ara Political Debate organized by the Youth Stakeholders of the Federal Constituency held in the NUT Hall, Aba Emu last Wednesday.
Ojetunde stressed that it is no more a gainsaying and indisputable fact that Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency remains the largest in Oyo State with seat of Alakia Airport, Gbagi International Market the enlightened people and many others.
The LP Candidate promised to prioritise people’s health, education, Local Government’s autonomy, Agriculture and constituents’ betterment at large.
While justifying his position on adequate representation, Ojetunde promised to ensure he gives effective representation to Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency while ascends the green chamber of National Assembly.
He challenged the current lawmaker representing the Federal Constituency, Hon. Akin Alabi as someone who had not done the needful for the constituents of the federal constituency.
Ojetunde reiterated his health support and educational programs, while he pledged that the necessary support would be made available to the farmers, Market men and women, Youths and students once he becomes a member of the House of Representatives.
Acknowledging that he has been doing what he could to assist some people through his connections in health sector and that, he will continue to do so.
Ojetunde said he would be committed to full autonomy of the local government, while he would be liaising with other legislative colleagues with same minds on complete autonomy to the local governments.
He said he would not abandon more attained standard of education in Egbeda and Ona Ara Local Government areas, having known that the foundation of every state is education of its youth, promising to contribute significantly to this sector for better attainment of future.
He at large promised to give effective representation, sponsor bills/motions which are mostly needed by the constituents, people of Oyo State and Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Adding that, the oversight function which is also key among the constitutional roles of a lawmaker would not be left untouched while they are assigned by the leadership of the house.
