Commodore Babalola (Rtd) Ph.D, FDC, launched the 5th edition of his annual initiative to provide support to widows and the less privileged in his community. The initiative kicked off on Saturday, 23rd December, 2023, in Atere, Oyo State, with the primary aim of ensuring that the needy are not overlooked during the Christmas celebrations.


Delegates were deployed to conduct a census of widows, and subsequently, cash gifts were distributed to enable them to partake in the festive atmosphere. The widows, appreciative of this compassionate gesture, expressed their sincere gratitude to Almighty God and Commodore Babalola (rtd) for affording them the opportunity to share in the joy of the season.
Continuing the noble cause, on Tuesday, 26th November, the initiative extended its reach to REDEEM/BEMBO in Ibadan. A total of 30 widows, along with 11 less privileged citizens, were identified to benefit from the support program. Distinguished individuals overseeing the intervention included the PDP CHAIRMAN IDO LOCAL GOVERNMENT, Alhaji Ayuba, Alhaji Olatinwo Razaki – Leader, Ward 10, Hon. Adeoye – Leader Ward 7, Alhaji Atilola – Ward 10, Mr. Adebayo Damory – CEO DAMORY INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, Chairman Ward 10, Mrs. Romoke – Women leader, Ido Local government, Women leader ward 10, Mr. Shaheed – Youth leader, Redeem/Bembo.


During the intervention, Commodore Babalola (Rtd) Ph.D FDC conveyed his gratitude for the opportunity to witness another festive season and emphasized the initiative’s purpose – to add value to society, express gratitude to God, and support the government’s efforts by contributing to community welfare. He reiterated that the focus remains on those in urgent need, emphasizing the importance of collective responsibility in providing assistance beyond government initiatives.
The distribution of gifts was meticulously carried out, and the beneficiaries were subsequently hosted at the residence of Commodore Babalola (Rtd) for further entertainment and care.
In his concluding remarks, Commodore Babalola (Rtd) encouraged everyone present to embrace the spirit of giving and support others in any way possible. The event marked another successful chapter in the ongoing commitment to uplifting the lives of the less fortunate during festive seasons.
