In commemoration of World Health Day, the Chairman of Agidigbo FM Nigeria and UK, Dr. Oriyomi Hamzat, has partnered with ANGY Health Foundation to offer free eye tests and prescription glasses to 1,000 senior citizens across Oyo State.
This humanitarian initiative is aimed at improving the quality of life for the elderly, many of whom suffer from age-related vision challenges but lack the resources for proper eye care. The outreach took place on April 7, 2025, symbolizing a commitment to health equity and access for all.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Hamzat emphasized the importance of prioritizing the health of vulnerable populations, especially the elderly, who often go unnoticed in the healthcare delivery chain.
“World Health Day is a reminder that health is a right, not a privilege. By supporting our senior citizens with free eye care services, we are not only restoring their vision but also giving them renewed confidence and dignity,” Dr. Hamzat stated.”
The collaborative effort with ANGY Health Foundation brought together a team of seasoned optometrists and health volunteers who conducted on-the-spot eye examinations and dispensed free reading glasses to beneficiaries.
Beneficiaries expressed heartfelt gratitude for the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful, especially given the current economic challenges.
This act of kindness by Dr. Hamzat adds to his growing record of community-centered interventions, cementing his reputation as a media entrepreneur with a heart for social good.
