The Elite Broadcasters, a renowned media group based in Ibadan, expresses grave concern over the continued detention of its Director of Media and Public Relations, Mr. Idris Animasaun, popularly known as Longman. Mr. Animasaun was reportedly invited by the Department of State Services (DSS), Oyo State Command, at approximately 10:00 AM this morning for interrogation.
It has now been over five hours since his invitation, and no official communication has been received regarding his whereabouts or the nature of his detention. Members of The Elite Broadcasters, who gathered in solidarity with Mr. Animasaun, have been left in the dark as they were told he was undergoing interrogation with the Director of the DSS.
We, therefore, call on the DSS to provide immediate clarification on the reasons for his continued detention and ensure his safety. The media community and concerned citizens deserve transparency and accountability from institutions like the DSS, which are meant to uphold justice and fairness.
We remain resolute in our demand for his swift release and urge the DSS to act in accordance with due process.
