Splash FM 105.5 and Agidigbo FM radio broadcasting stations in Ibadan, Oyo State has banned all Naira Marley’s songs amid rumours surrounding the death of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji, popularly known as MohBad
In a protest against the untimely demise of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji, also known as MohBad, Splash FM 105.5 and Agidigbo prominent radio stations in Ibadan, Oyo State has made the decision to ban all songs by Naira Marley.
The announcement of the ban from Splash FM and Agidigbo FM was made on Monday on their official social media channels to share the news.
According to a post credited to one of the station, the management of Splash FM has placed Naira Marley’s songs under a “Not to Be Broadcast” category on their radio frequency.
The post stated, “Good evening team. In light of recent events surrounding MohBad’s death
According to the post, Marley’s songs have been placed on “Not to Be Broadcast” on the radio frequency by the station’s management
The post read, “Good evening team. In view of the sensitive nature around the death of Mohbad and the criminal procedure, the police have commenced, I will urge us all to exercise discretion.
“To this effect, Naira Marley’s songs have become NTBB ( not to be broadcast) on our station till further notice. This is with immediate effect. Thank you.”
Also, Agidigbo FM posted: We join our voices to demand in-depth investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Mohbad. In the meantime, all songs from Marlian Records label are prohibited to air on Agidigbo FM. #JusticeForMohbad
Freshvoice Newsmedia learnt that the popular FM stations banned the playing of songs by Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley from airing on the station till further notice.
Naira Marley has been criticized over the circumstances surrounding the sudden death of MohBad among other artists.
