The Aseyin of Iseyinland, Oba Sefiu Oyebola Adeyeri III, has taken another wife ahead of his installation as the king of the ancient town.
The new bride, according to a palace source who spoke to www.freshvoicenewsmedia.com.ng on Monday, October 31, is named Maryam Omoronke Abike.
She will be officially betrothed to Oba Oyebola on Thursday, November 3, at Nikkah program scheduled to hold in Lagos state.
Olori Omoronke is an indigene of Osogbo in Osun State and her parents have for long, lived in Oyo.
“Yes, Kabiesi is taking a new wife by the special grace of God,” the source told this publication, adding that all the rites have been done according to the Islamic faith.
Oba Oyebola ascended the throne of his ancestors barely two years after the demise of the late occupier of the royal stool, Oba Ajinese Abdul Ganiyu Ologunebi.
The 55-year-old brushed off stiff competition from other eleven contenders after being voted by the kingmakers in a process held at the Aseyin palace on Tuesday, August 29.
Before becoming the king, Aseyin was living in the United States with his family.
His coronation has been officially approved by Governor Seyi Makinde and the ceremony is due to hold in a matter of weeks.
