The Association of Ancient Ibadan War Lords Families has honoured Prince Oluwayemisi Adeaga, the immediate past President General of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) and currently the National President of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, in a prestigious event held at Ibadan House, beside the Olubadan Palace in Oke Aremo, Ibadan.
Freshvoice Newsmedia was present at the honorary event where Chief Oluyedun Babatunde, Public Relations Officer of the War Lords Group, explained that the award presentation was initially scheduled during the 10th Anniversary of the Association of Ancient Ibadan War Lords Families on March 10, 2024. However, Prince Adeaga informed the association of his unavailability at the time, necessitating the rescheduled honour.
In his speech, Chief Adewale Ibikunle, President of the Association, highlighted the significant contributions of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigene (CCII) under the leadership of Prince Adeaga. He acknowledged the tireless efforts and impact of the CCII on the War Lords Families and the broader Ibadanland community during Adeaga’s tenure.
The award was formally presented by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakunlehin, who was represented by Mogaji Gbolagade Akere. The presentation took place under the Kiriji War Monument, a historic symbol commemorating the Yoruba Peace Treaty of 1886, one of Prince Adeaga’s notable achievements during his tenure as President General of the CCII.
The event was attended by several notable dignitaries, including the wife of the former CCII President General, Princess Oluwayemisi Adeaga; Prince (Prof.) Femi Lana Odugade, President of Ajorosun Club of Ibadan; among others.
