The Oyo State Deputy Governor, Barrister Adebayo Abdulraheem Lawal, will lead an esteemed lineup of government officials, religious leaders, and other dignitaries at the annual Maolud Nabiyy celebration organized by His Eminence, Sheikh AbdulGaniy Abubakry Agbotomokekere, Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Grand Imam of Oyo State, and Grand Patron of the League of Imams and Alfas of Yorubaland, Edo, and Delta States.


This significant event, marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), will take place on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Ibadan Central Mosque, Oja’ba, Ibadan. The Deputy Governor, in his role as Principal Special Guest of Honour, will be joined by an impressive array of state functionaries and religious leaders from across the region to honor the occasion.

According to a press statement signed by the Chief Imam’s Personal Assistant, Alfa Idris Titilope, and made available to Freshvoice Newsmedia, the Maolud Nabiyy event will feature a keynote lecture by Fodilat Sheikh Toliat Yunus Ayilara, the Chief Imam of Ogbomosho. Sheikh Ayilara will deliver insights on the theme of “Perseverance” (Atemora), underscoring the value of resilience and patience as exemplified by the Prophet Muhammad.
The annual celebration provides an opportunity for spiritual reflection, unity, and renewed commitment to Islamic teachings among the Muslim faithful in Oyo State and beyond. As one of the most anticipated gatherings in the region, it underscores the cultural and spiritual leadership of Sheikh Agbotomokekere, whose influence spans Yorubaland, Edo, and Delta States.
