A leading governorship aspirant of the Accord Party in Oyo State, Oriyomi Hamzat, has held a private, closed-door meeting with Prince Ibrahim Oloyede Asawale Asanike at the Oriyomi Hamzat office in Ibadan.
While details of the engagement were not officially disclosed, credible sources indicate that the discussion may be connected to Prince Asanike’s emerging political interests ahead of the next electoral cycle.
Prince Asanike is the son of the late Oba Yesufu Oloyede Asanike I, one of the most revered Olubadan of Ibadanland, and is reportedly weighing options for a possible political contest.
Mr. Hamzat, a prominent media personality and chieftain of the Accord Party, recently declared his governorship ambition at the Liberty Stadium, signaling a formal entry into the race.
Following the meeting, indications suggest that Prince Asanike may be considering alignment with the Accord Party, potentially to vie for an elective position under the party’s platform.
Attempts to obtain comments from Prince Asanike proved unsuccessful, as calls placed to him after the meeting were not returned.
More details are expected as developments unfold.
