The Olubadan-in-Council will on Monday, August 4, 2025, begin formal deliberations on the enthronement of Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
According to a notice of meeting issued by the Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, the session is scheduled to hold at 11:00 a.m. at the new Olubadan Palace, located in Oke-Aremo, Ibadan North Local Government Area.
The gathering marks the first official step towards the formal installation of Oba Ladoja, following the conclusion of the 21-day mourning period for the 43rd Olubadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin Ige I who passed away recently.
All Ibadan High Chiefs are expected to be in attendance, including the Olubadan-designate, Oba Rasidi Ladoja, who has been receiving sympathizers at his Lagos residence since the monarch’s demise. Sources confirmed he is expected to return to Ibadan this weekend ahead of the crucial meeting.
Meanwhile, the final burial rites for the late Olubadan, Oba Olakulehin, have been scheduled to hold on Friday, August 8, 2025, at Saint Peter’s Cathedral, Aremo, Ibadan.
