The Office of the Deputy Coordinator of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), South-West Zone D, led by Ridwan A.O.A. (Pal. Solution), has announced the Barr. Sharafadeen Alli Students Leadership Training and Advancement Summit (SLTAS ’26), a strategic leadership gathering aimed at equipping, inspiring and empowering the next generation of student leaders.
The landmark summit, scheduled to hold in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, will bring together 350 carefully selected student leaders from higher institutions of learning, student unions and various leadership structures across the region.
According to the organisers, the selection is designed to bring together young leaders with proven commitment, leadership potential and the capacity to contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of the Nigerian student community.
The summit will feature an impressive line-up of distinguished personalities.
Barr. Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, Senator representing Oyo South, has been named the Keynote Speaker, while Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, Okanlomo Oodua, will serve as the Chairman of the Occasion.
Also expected at the summit is Hon. Asefon Sunday Dayo, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Students Engagements, who will serve as the Guest Speaker, alongside other prominent personalities and stakeholders in leadership, governance and student affairs.
SLTAS ’26 is designed to go beyond a conventional leadership programme. It will provide a platform for intellectual engagement, leadership training, strategic networking, mentorship and the exchange of ideas aimed at building a more united, visionary, purposeful and productive student leadership system.
With 350 emerging and established student leaders expected to participate, organisers believe the summit will provide an important opportunity to expose participants to practical leadership lessons while encouraging them to embrace responsibility, innovation and service.
The calibre of speakers and participants is expected to make SLTAS ’26 a significant platform for conversations around the future of student leadership and youth development in Nigeria.
