A former member of the Oyo State House of Assembly and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress APC, Honorable Lasun Adebunmi has denied leaving the party for Accord saying that he remains a full-fledged member of the All Progressive Congress
Honorable Adebunmi, in a statement issued in Ibadan today and made available to newsmen, said that there was no iota of truth in the publication that he had defected from APC adding that he did not at anytime attend any meeting in the Adeleabu Foundation House of the gubernatorial candidate of Accord, Chief Bayo Adelabu as claimed in the publication.

Adebunmi, a frontline leader of APC in Ibadan North Local Government and former State Secretary for the Alliance for Democracy AD maintained that he was totally committed to the Isaac Omodewu led APC and working hard together with his followers across the state to ensure victory of all the candidates of the party in the 2023 general elections.
Honorable Adebunmi stated that he had no reason whatsoever to jump ship now when it was already sure that the All Progressives Congress would retain government at the centre, regain Oyo State from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and win both the national and state assemblies elections.
“ I am a seasoned and committed progressive and would not defect from the All Progressives Party of which I am a foundation member. I am at present part of the reconciliation committee moving round the state to bring peace and unity to the party.
“The committee has so far done a great job and we are sure of delivering the presidential candidate of our party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, our gubernatorial candidate, Senator Teslim Folarin, our Senatorial candidate, Chief Sarafa Ali, our House of Representatives candidate, Honorable Akinremi and our two State House of Assembly candidates in Ibadan North Local Government in the general elections.”
He therefore urged journalists to always cross check their findings from authentic and well meaning party members and not allow disgruntled politicians to tarnish their hard earned names with fake information.
An online news portal had yesterday listed the name of Honorable Lasun Adebunmi among some leaders of the Unity Forum , a group within the All Progressives Congress which he belongs to, that defected from APC to Accord at a meeting held with Accord gubernatorial candidate, Chief Bayo Adelabu in his house at Jericho on Sunday.
