Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort in Akanran, Ona-Ara Local Government, Area of Oyo State was on Tuesday, March 21 filled with over 10,000 capacity as the Otun Apesinola of Ibadanland, Mogaji Olugbade and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Engr. Dotun Sanusi hosted a celebration in connection with the re-election of Governor Seyi Makinde.
The celebration which attracted attendance top executive members of the government, Muslim Community Leaders, Christian Leader’s, Christian Leader’s, Youths and other influential people across the nooks and crannies of Oyo State and beyond commenced in the early hours of Tuesday as all participants wearing smiling faces.
While speaking, Governor Seyi Makinde thank Almighty God for His grace, his bossom friend who is the host, Chief Dotun Sanusi and people of pacesetter state regardless of political affiliations, religions and other dichotomies, for working diligently, patriotically and conscientiously towards possibility of his second term of office.
He maintained that, election has come and gone, while all promises made during the electioneering campaign would be fulfilled in order to move people from poverty to prosperity.
Makinde pledged to consolidate on path of his unprecedented feats attained in his first term of office, while the newly slogan of Omituntun 2.0 would be continuation of implementation of developmental programmes aimed at making the pacesetter the primus inter pares.
He reiterated commitment to governance of inclusiveness that would give no room for religious, tribal, political sentiments and other attached acrimonious feelings.
The funfair programme which went in line with recitation of national anthem, Oyo anthem, cultural display and different dancing strategies gave Governor Makinde and other dignitaries in attendance to showcase their dancing skills and how joyous they were throughout of the celebration.
The host, Chief Dotun Sanusi who could not hide his joy and bliss showed appreciation to God almighty and all concerned quarters for making Makinde’s reelection feasible despite all odds and different sentiments that preceded election.
He described Governor as a man of people whose results garnered at the polls indicate that his reelection was truly blessed by God almighty.
Chief Dotun Sanusi who is Otun Apesin Ola of Ibadanland enjoined those contested against Makinde for same exalted seat to join hands with him in order to take the state to enviable heights.
