Legacy Stars of Ibadan (LSI), one of the prominent affiliate groups of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigene (CCII), has announced a series of activities to mark the celebration of its 20th Anniversary.
This information was disclosed during a press briefing coordinated by the Group President, Mogaji Saheed Oyewale, and monitored by Freshvoice Newsmedia at the Ibadan House, Oke Aremo.
The event schedule is as follows:
Day 1:
Saturday, 18th May 2024: Press Briefing at Ibadan House, Oke Aremo, Ibadan.
Day 2:
Sunday, 19th May 2024:
– Thanksgiving Service at the Methodist Church Nigeria, Wesley Cathedral, Elekuro, Ibadan, at 10 am.
– Novelty match between Legacy Stars of Ibadan (LSI) and The Royal Group (TRG) at Olubadan Stadium, at 4 pm.
Day 3:
Thursday, 23rd May 2024:
– Rural Medical Outreach at Ajanla Village, Ibadan, at 11 am.
Day 4:
Friday, 24th May 2024:
– Special Jumat Service at Ahmadiyya Movement Nigeria, Idikan, Ibadan, at 1 pm.
Day 5:
Saturday, 25th May 2024:
– Grand Finale at Jogor Event Centre, Liberty Road, Ibadan, at 11 am.
– Inter-Secondary Schools Debate Competition starting at 8 am.
During the event marking the commencement of the 20th Anniversary, the Secretary General of LSI, Barr. Kazeem Oladapo, highlighted the group’s achievements: “Our members have touched many lives in Ibadan and Oyo State as a whole. During the COVID-19 pandemic, one of our members who is a Mogaji, Oloye Abayomi Gbadamosi Mogaji Ile Onigba Idi Arere, donated a truck of live chickens to Ibadan House, which were distributed throughout the state to support citizens during that trying period. We have also facilitated scholarships for students of Ibadanland through another member of our group. We are the Intellectual Engine of the CCII, and Legacy Stars is the club with the highest number of Mogaji of Ibadanland.”
He further mentioned, “The major issue facing us over the past 20 years has been the creation of Ibadan State.”
Prominent members at the event included Mogaji Abayomi Gbadamosi, Chief Sadiq Abass, Alhaji Hussain Akeem among others.
