Comrade Oluwemimo Solomon OYINLOLA, a former Ibadan-born students’ leader and ex-Chairman of the Ona Ara Students Union, recently organized a noteworthy NYSC Spelling Competition, showcasing the intellectual prowess of young minds.
The spotlight of the competition shone brightly on Sarumi Roqeeb from Eela Heart School, who emerged as the exceptional champion despite his petite stature. Roqeeb’s remarkable intelligence and linguistic skills were on full display as he navigated through a highly competitive event organized by the NYSC CLO of Ibeju Lekki Local Government, Oluwemimo Solomon OYINLOLA. The final round, fiercely contested by Temi from Tower Hall School, proved to be the most challenging stage of the competition.
This educational event benefited from the expertise of three language professionals from the esteemed University of Ibadan. Gbadegesin Mohamed, a former president of the English department, chaired the process. He was joined by Abimbola Abduwaris, the Southwest Regional Director of the National Association of Students of English and Literary Studies (NASELS), and Oyewole ICon.
Dignitaries from the local government, including the Chairman’s representative, the Supervisor for Education, graced the event. In his address, the Chairman commended the initiative of the NYSC CLO, Oluwemimo Solomon OYINLOLA, recognizing the competition as an outstanding and commendable educational initiative.
