The Jagunmolu Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, has announced that he is dedicating his 56th birthday celebration to the victims of the tragic incident that occurred at Oke Elesin on Monday. In a heartfelt gesture, Chief Sanusi expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and offered prayers for the families affected by the disaster.
Speaking just after midnight, Chief Sanusi made this announcement as he was greeted by well-wishers who stormed Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort with drums and trumpets to celebrate his milestone birthday. Despite the outpouring of love and celebration, Chief Sanusi remained focused on the somber reality faced by those mourning in the wake of the Oke Elesin tragedy.
“As much as I appreciate the love and celebration surrounding my 56th birthday, my heart remains with the families of those who lost their lives in the Oke Elesin incident,” Chief Sanusi said. “In their memory, I dedicate this special day to them and offer my prayers for strength and comfort to their families.”
Chief Sanusi, the Asiwaju of Ona Ara Local Government, further emphasized the importance of community support during difficult times and pledged to continue his efforts toward ensuring peace, safety, and development in Oyo State.
