The Fakhar Soliheen of Oyo State, Dr. (Al Imam) Sheikh Al Kahleefa Al Mudeer Taofeeq Adewale Kolapo KAREEM, has called on all Nigerians to embrace tolerance and contribute to national peace and unity during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
In a personally signed statement made available to newsmen, Dr. Kareem urged both Muslims and Christians in Nigeria to unite and coexist peacefully. He emphasized that tolerance, self-sacrifice, and respect for one another, irrespective of religion, are key lessons from this festive period.
Dr. Kareem also explained the significance of the slaughtering of the ram, a regular feature during the celebrations. According to Islamic teachings, Eid-el-Kabir commemorates the act of faith of the patriarch Ibrahim, who obeyed Allah’s command to sacrifice his son.
“Let us all draw inspiration from this story and strive to foster peace, unity, and mutual respect in our communities,” he said.
