Electoral Act: Yoruba Youth Leader, Aare Dotun Hassan Commends PMB, Condemns Obnoxious Provisions in the New Electoral Act.
The National President, Aare Oladotun Hassan, Esq. President, Yoruba Council of Youths Worldwide and Secretary General, Nigeria Ethnic Nationalities Youth Leaders Council has lauded President Muhammad Buhari on the ascension of the new electoral bill as amended into law.
The Electoral Act is the guiding provisions laws for INEC to use for the conduct and management of Electoral processes and most importantly the 2023 general elections.

The 2022 Act will impact greatly on the 2023 elections, based on the provisions ratifying the electronic transmission of votes and result to a central portals, saving the nation of the long standing monumental embarrassments of forged and alterations of election result and ballots and result snatching by armed thugs.
We hope this will go a long way to tackle electoral malpractices, while we implore politicians to play by the rules, and electorates to be guided accordingly.
We commend President Buhari for signing the Electoral Act Amendment Bill into law earlier today.
While the new Electoral Act has positive provisions such as the electronic transmission of results, it has in it some obnoxious provisions such as unconditional deregistration of parties and some other unconstitutional provisions.
As the Cross-River By-election into two Federal Constituency seats hold tomorrow, 26th February, 2022, we will observing compliance with the new Electoral Act in respect of adherence to electronic transmission of results.
We equally frowned at the
obnoxious provisions of the new Electoral Act, while we implore Mr President to rescind and apply to the National Assembly for the striking out of same provisions for their inconsistency with the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (1999 as amended).
