A Volunteer Group, Friends of Deji-Ola Clean-up IBNE and Ona Ara LGAs to wind up January activities
It was a of joyful moment for the good people of Ibadan North East Local Government and Ona Ara Local Government respectively when Deji Ola and his friends stormed their local governments for their monthly environmental sanitation. The cleaning exercise took place in the major areas of the two local governments.
The team converged in front of Agugu police station in the early hour of the day around 6:00am to carry out the voluntary exercise. Volunteers from all the 33 local governments in the state were adequately represented.

The activity which captured major parts of Ibadan northeast local such like Agugu, irewumi, Lagelu, Yidi was terminated at Babanla area, Ona Ara Local government.
The Convener, Comrade Deji Ola who is also the Personal Assistant to Chief of Staff to Executive Governor of Oyo state emphasized the importance of sanitation as cleanliness is next to Godliness. He further said that, one of the greatest purposes a man/woman can ever be indulged in is the positive evolution of self for the selfless service to humanity.
“It is important to note that when thousands of selfless volunteers, patriotic citizens respond to service to humanity, we can be rest assured of positive results” He concluded.
During the exercise, It was observed that there is need for public enlightenment and enforcement on proper waste disposal as this is the only way to ensure more cleaner environment.
Members of the NGO also used the Opportunity to orientate people around the captured environment to desist from indiscriminate dumping of refuse on roadside, drainage system or uncompleted buildings. They were also advised to always avoid burning their refuse as this can pose threat to the health of living organism around the environment.
Residents were also observed disposing their refuses into the compactor vehicle which was provided by one of our volunteers; Mr Abimbola Gbenjo of Mannaseh Engineering.
The Coordinator, Mr Bashorun Adeniji during his remark appreciated all volunteers for their continued supports and also reaffirm that the NGO shall continue to contribute its quota to the development of the state and Nigeria at large.
