The ACCORD Party in Oyo State has congratulated Ambassador Shakirullahi Jimoh Ora’nkan following the confirmation of his candidature as the party’s flag bearer for the Oyo Central Senatorial District in the 2027 general election.
According to a statement issued by the Ora’nkan Support Group (OSG), ACCORD faithful, and members of the ICF, Ambassador Ora’nkan’s name has been officially reflected on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal as the party’s candidate for the senatorial contest.
The group noted that Ambassador Ora’nkan secured the party’s ticket after emerging victorious in the ACCORD primary election held on June 28, 2026, defeating his opponent in what it described as a keenly contested exercise.
The supporters described his emergence as a testament to the confidence reposed in his leadership qualities, integrity, and longstanding commitment to humanitarian service and grassroots development.
According to the statement, the confirmation of his candidature by INEC represents the collective decision of party members and provides a strong foundation for the party’s preparations ahead of the 2027 general election.
The group expressed optimism that Ambassador Ora’nkan’s people-oriented vision, inclusive leadership style, and development agenda would resonate with the electorate across the Oyo Central Senatorial District.
It further declared that the party’s campaign has commenced, expressing confidence that ACCORD would mount a formidable challenge in the forthcoming elections.
The supporters also appealed to residents of Oyo State to support the party’s candidates, including Alhaji (Dr.) Oriyomi Okikiola Hamzat, the ACCORD governorship candidate, Ambassador Shakirullahi Jimoh Ora’nkan for Oyo Central Senatorial District, as well as the party’s candidates for the House of Representatives and the Oyo State House of Assembly.
They maintained that electing ACCORD candidates would usher in a new era of inclusive governance, sustainable development, improved welfare, and lasting peace across Oyo State.
