The Legacy Stars of Ibadan, a distinguished club of professionals affiliated with the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), has elected a new executive team to steer the affairs of the organization for the next two years.
The election, held on Sunday at Ibadan House, Oke Aremo, was presided over by Deacon Ademola Alabi and witnessed by past and outgoing executive members.
Following a transparent and well-conducted process, the newly elected officers are:
Mogaji Abayomi Gbadamosi – President
Alhaji Akeem Hussein – Vice President
Mr. Saheed Folarin – General Secretary
Mr. Isiaka Safiu – Director of Finance
Mr. Akeem Rabiu – Auditor
Mr. Bukunmi Olugbade – Director of Social/Welfare
Mr. Rahmon Dauda – Chief Whip
In his acceptance speech, the newly elected President, Mogaji Abayomi Gbadamosi, expressed profound gratitude to members for their trust and confidence in his leadership. He pledged to work collaboratively with all members to further the club’s mission and foster its growth.
“I sincerely appreciate the members of Legacy Stars of Ibadan for giving me the opportunity to serve as the next president of this great club. I do not take this responsibility for granted. I also extend my respect to Legacy Sadik Abass for his participation in the election. I look forward to harmonizing ideas with him and all members to move the club forward. To all contestants, we are all winners, united by our love for this club. I encourage all members to share their opinions freely as we work together to take LSI to greater heights.”
The club remains committed to advocating for community development and good governance. Notably, in December last year, LSI called on the federal government, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, to investigate the current and past management of the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan. This appeal aimed to find lasting solutions to the persistent power outages affecting the hospital’s operations.
With its new leadership in place, the Legacy Stars of Ibadan is poised to continue its advocacy, community engagement, and professional networking for the progress of Ibadan and beyond.
