President of Ibadan Mega Voice (IMV), a body of renowned Ibadan indigenes who are into professional media practice, Comrade Kola Olomide, has described the death of Ibadan Senior Chief Lateef Oyelade, the Ekefa-Olubadan of Ibadanland, as a great loss to Ibadanland and the entire Oyo State.
Olomide, in a press statement signed and made available to newsmen on behalf of IMV, urged all and sundry, especially family members, Olubadan of Ibadanland, Imperial Majesty, Oba Mohood Olalekan Alli Okunmade II and the Olubadan Advisory Council to accept Chief Oyelade’s demise as the will of God.
Olomide charged them to take solace in the fact that the deceased lived an impactful life and left indelible legacy in all spheres of life – social, religious and traditional – in Ibadanland.
Senior Chief Oyelade, who was the Babaasale Musulumi of Ibadanland and the Ekefa-Olubadan of Ibadanland died on Friday 8th September, 2023.
Oyelade, until his demise, was a member of the Otun Line of the Olubadan ascendancy system where he rose to the exalted level of Ekefa-Olubadan, a step before becoming an High Chief and member of the Olubadan Advisory Council before his demise.
IMV President asked Allah to forgive the highly revered Ibadan senior chief. He prayed that God will console all concerned and give them the fortitude to bear the loss.
He stressed that Oyelade’s legacy will endure for many decades to come because of his philanthropic and generous contributions towards the welfare of the less privileged in the society.
Olomide charged all and sundry to pray for the repose of the soul of Senior Chief Oyelade who was loved by everybody during his lifetime.
