In a strategic move towards fostering agricultural development, the Ibadan Elite Broadcasters (IEB), prominent media professionals in Ibadan, paid a visit to the facilities of Niji Group, a leading agricultural company based in Oyo State, Nigeria.
During the visit, the IEB engaged in a meaningful media chat with Farmer Kola Adeniji, the General Managing Director of Niji Group. Farmer Adeniji provided valuable insights into the transformative impact the group has had on various towns in the Oke Ogun area of Oyo State, elevating them to international recognition.
Having spent over 30 years in Lagos, the Niji Group made the strategic decision to relocate to Oyo State, recognizing the government’s dedication to the development of the agricultural sector.
Key initiatives highlighted by Farmer Adeniji include the Niji Institute of Sustainable Agriculture in Ilero, Oke Ogun, Niji Farms (Cassava Farm) in Owode Ipapo, and Niji Farms (Maize Farm) in Ilero, all contributing significantly to the agricultural landscape in Oke Ogun.
The group not only operates locally but has also expanded its impact internationally by selling locally assembled tractors to other African countries. Additionally, Niji Foods, a subsidiary of Niji Group, produces gari and fufu powder.
Farmer Adeniji expressed openness to collaborations with the government and organizations, including the Ibadan Elite Broadcasters. He extended an invitation to showcase the brand’s flagship product, the ‘Brand of the Century Plug ‘n’ Play Energy Drink,’ fully available at Niji Foods, during the upcoming IEB dinner.
This collaborative effort aims to harness the synergies between media professionals and agricultural experts, contributing to the growth of the agricultural sector in Oyo State.
