The Chief Imam of Ibadanland and Grand Imam of Oyo State, His Eminence Sheikh AbdulGaniy Abubakry Agbotomokekere, has congratulated Oba (Senator) Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja on his official confirmation as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland by His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, on behalf of the Oyo State Government.
In a statement signed by his Personal Assistant, Alfa Sulaimon Idris, the revered Islamic leader described the confirmation as “a victory for tradition, a triumph for peace, and a testament to Ibadanland’s unity.”
“This is a remarkable moment in the history of Ibadan. The seamless confirmation of Oba Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan is proof that our traditional system is built on wisdom, order, and mutual respect,” Sheikh Agbotomokekere said.
He further praised the Olubadan-in-Council for maintaining harmony throughout the process, adding:
“The Olubadan stool represents the pride of Ibadan and the Yoruba race. I urge all sons and daughters of Ibadanland to rally around Oba Ladoja for the progress and stability of our land.”
Sheikh Agbotomokekere also offered heartfelt prayers for the new monarch:
“May Almighty Allah grant Oba Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja long life, sound health, wisdom, and divine guidance to lead Ibadanland to greater heights of peace, unity, and prosperity.”

اللّهُمَّ أَيِّدْهُ بِالنَّصْرِ وَأَعِنْهُ عَلَى الْحَقِّ وَاجْعَلْ وِلاَيَتَهُ بَرَكَةً لِبَلَدِهِ وَأَهْلِهِ
“O Allah, strengthen him with Your support, aid him upon the truth, and make his reign a blessing for his land and his people.”
