Hon. Hammed Ademola Babalola, an esteemed member of the Oyo State Youth Parliament representing Ido State constituency, is poised to launch the inaugural Hammed Ademola Babalola Senior Secondary School Essay Competition. This initiative aims to actively involve and empower senior secondary school students in the Ido and Ibadan SouthWest local government areas.

Set for the 25th of November, 2023, the competition anticipates the participation of representatives from 95 schools in the specified regions. The distinguished Government College, Ibadan, has been chosen as the venue, underscoring the commitment to bringing educational opportunities closer to grassroots-level students.
The fundamental goal of this essay competition is to elevate the academic proficiency and writing skills of students across both public and private senior secondary schools. Hon. Hammed Ademola Babalola underscores the significance of these skills in equipping students for diverse career paths.
Kicking off at 8:00 am, the competition will initiate with student registrations at the Government College Ibadan school hall. To ensure fairness, participants will be assigned codes, safeguarding personal information from invigilators, candidates, and examiners. Dignitaries including the Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Miss Wasilat Adegoke, the Senior Special Adviser to the Governor on Students Affairs, Hon. Victor Olojede, the Acting Executive Secretary of the Agency of Youth Development, Mrs. Muraina, and the Principal of Government College Ibadan will grace the occasion, sharing their wealth of experience to inspire the participating students.
The competition will unfold in the Maths and English lecture rooms, with students allocated seats and provided with further instructions. Upon its conclusion, students will be treated to refreshments, and their essays will undergo rigorous scrutiny and grading.
In acknowledgment of excellence, the top three essays will be rewarded with a total sum of three hundred thousand naira (#300,000). Furthermore, these winning compositions will be prominently featured in various media outlets, providing students with a platform to showcase their literary talents.
