Mr. Omogbolahan L.A. BABAWALE Director & Head, Media & Public Relations of the leading Egbeda/Ona-Ara APC aspirant, Hon. Akinjide Kazeem Akinola (AKA) has described his principal as a change indigenes and inhabitants of Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency must expect in 2023 for quality representation.

In a report made available to https://freshvoicenewsmedia.com.ng, the Director, Media & Publicity, AKA2023 says, while going through memory lane, many past events popped up in his mind. Issues ranging from faulty past and current representation in Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency.

For years, the constituents of Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency have yearned for quality representation woven around people-centric ethos and political deliverables. These basic necessities of human capital development have hitherto eluded the hapless people of the federal delineation. The fact is that the constituency for more than three (3) years now has been under a Progressive party but has added only very little and/or negligible democratic dividends to people’s living standard in the communities under the federal coverage. If any at all, it has been largely infinitesimal. The essence of leadership is to be able to drive development, impact positively on the lives of people within the leader’s area of coverage – in this case, the Federal Constituency. And where this is conspicuously lacking, the need to change the narrative becomes inherently germane. Hence, the call for changing the change.

When in 2019 our darling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) came out to canvass for votes from the people of Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency, the call was hearkened by all and sundry. The constituents trusted their votes in the Party, believing it would offer them measurable and concrete benefits of ‘ìjoba mèkúnnùn’, but alas, their hope was dashed. Their aspirations not met. The essence of representation at the federal level is to be able to bring federal government presence in terms of projects that will add value to people’s lives. But a look at the current situation within the Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency is one that brings sour taste in the mouth. Egbeda/Ona-Ara is one of the biggest federal constituencies in Nigeria, and that to a large extent should have been an added advantage, but hey, that is not to be. People are disenchanted. People are disillusioned.

People are disappointed that so much was expected from their representative, so little can be seen so far, thus far. The present representative though under an All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket risks being lost to the opposition and the ruling party in the Pace Setter State, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). The leadership of the Party must therefore look inward and examine its mechanisms with a view to repositioning it (APC) for another victory come 2023. This time around, a resounding victory is all that should matter. Therefore, Party leadership must engage with the grassroots. Party leadership must listen to the voice of the people. The voice on the streets on their preferred candidate. The delegates on their own must be circumspect so that history can remember them for good.

If there is any aspirant that is making waves on the streets and within the All Progressives Congress (APC) family in Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency today, one name keeps popping up every now and then.

Hon. Akinola is not a political abecedarian, neither is he a tyro. He has been here all along. He has been busy with his philanthropic projects for the people of his constituency even when he never holds an elective political office. His decision was to hearken to the clarion call by his constituents to involve himself in mainstream politicking so that he can bring more benefits to his immediate community. They saw in him, a representation per excellence. They saw in him, an altruistic leader. They saw in him an ‘a tó f’isé ogun rán’ (a worthy generalissimo). We only appeal to the Party and its leaders in Oyo State to throw their back in support of a worthy ‘plenipotentiary’ of repute. A man who can win the seat for them without much ado.
