Ona Ara Local Government was yesterday awash with goodwill and reverence as eminent personalities from across Oyo State and beyond gathered to honour the life and legacy of Dcns. Caroline Ayoade. The solemn yet celebratory event, hosted by the Executive Chairman, Dr. Temitope Kolapo GLORIOUS, held on Friday 7th February, 2026 at The Philomath Arena, Amuloko, attracted a constellation of political leaders, traditional rulers, party stalwarts, professionals and community stakeholders.
Speaking after the programme, Dr. Temitope GLORIOUS expressed deep gratitude to all attendees for standing with his family to celebrate the impactful life of his late mother-in-law, mother of Deaconess Oluwabunmi Kolapo and Emperor Dele Ayoade Asegun. He described the overwhelming turnout as a testament to the enduring values of service, faith and community that the late matriarch embodied.
Among the dignitaries in attendance were Governor Seyi Makinde’s ally, Otunba Seye Famojuro; the Personal Assistant to the Governor, Alhaji Akeem Azeem; and the Honourable Member representing Egbeda/Ona Ara Federal Constituency, Hon. Akin Alabi. Also present were the Oyo State Deputy Speaker, Hon. Muhammad Abiodun Fadeyi, members of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Commissioners, PDP leaders and executives, Local Government Chairmen and their spouses, among others.
Leading the traditional institution were the Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola; the Otun Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Adegbola; the Association of Mogaji of Ibadanland under Chief Asimiyu Ariori; Oba Qamarudeen Oniladuntan; members of the Ona Ara Local Government Traditional Council; and Baales across the Local Government.
Other notable attendees included the Babaloja General of Oyo State, Alhaji Yekini Abass Oladapo (YK Abbas); Hon. Busari Olayemi, Hon. Daud Sangodoyin, Chief Babatunde Tijani (Double T), President of Ona Ara Development Forum, Alahji Kola Bolomope, representatives of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools; citizens of Ona Ara Local Government; security agencies; and members of the Organized Development Forums (ODF).
Dr. Temitope GLORIOUS, while appreciating every guest, emphasized that the presence and prayers of all attendees strengthened the family and reinforced the spirit of unity that defines Ona Ara. He prayed for God’s comfort for the family and for eternal rest for the departed, while wishing safe journeys to all guests.
