Leaders and stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Saki West Local Government Area, on Sunday, converged to celebrate Barrister Sarafadeen Lateef, fondly called Onijo, following his induction into the Institute of Global Peace and Conflict Management and the Nigerian Institute of Chartered Arbitrators.
The Saki West PDP organised a colourful reception in his honour at the Digital Hall, where he was proudly acknowledged as a loyal and dedicated member of the party.
Barr. Onijo was inducted into the Global Peace Hall of Fame as a Distinguished Fellow of the Institute of Global Peace and Conflict Management, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to peacebuilding, conflict resolution and the promotion of harmonious coexistence. He was also officially certified as a member of the Nigerian Institute of Chartered Arbitrators, further affirming his professional excellence.
According to findings by MOUTHPIECE NGR, the honours underscore his impactful role in advancing sustainable conflict-resolution frameworks and his inspirational leadership across professional and community spaces.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the occasion, Hon. Adetunji Rafiu Adekunle, Chairman of the Oyo State Pension Board, described Barr. Onijo as an industrious and committed individual, while offering prayers for Allah’s continued guidance, success and elevation in his endeavours.
In his remarks, the Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Hon. Niyi Adebisi, stressed the unity within the party, noting that “the cord that binds us together is the PDP,” and urged party members to emulate Barr. Onijo’s loyalty and dedication.
The reception attracted a wide array of PDP leaders and stakeholders, including Engineer Hamid Gbadamosi, PDP BOT member; Alhaji Lateef Koomi; Alhaji Waheed Oluwakemi, Special Adviser on Political Matters; Mr. Kehinde Adetola, former Vice Chairman of Saki West Local Government; the incumbent Chairman, Hon. Gbenga Akinola; and the Chief of Staff, Mr. O. Oluwaseun.
Also in attendance were the PDP Chairman, Alhaji Idris Aloma; the General Women Leader; Mr. Kehinde Ado, a Customs officer; Baba Olumota; Alhaji Busari Musbaudeen; Sheikh Rahman Fasasy; Mr. Sakariyahu Peke; Engineer Muda Eruobodo, former Chairman of Saki West Local Government; the Leader of the House; and several other party faithfuls.
