Dr. Akande Kazeem Babatunde, a respected chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ido Local Government, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to His Imperial Majesty, Oba Abimbola Owoade, on his ascension to the revered throne of the Alaafin of Oyo.
In a statement released on Thursday, Dr. Akande hailed the coronation as a monumental occasion for the Oyo Kingdom and the Yoruba nation at large. He commended the new monarch’s exemplary leadership qualities and expressed optimism that his reign would usher in a new chapter of unity, progress, and cultural revival.
“Kabiyesi’s emergence signifies a fresh dawn for the Oyo Kingdom. With his wisdom, experience, and commitment to the growth of his people, the rich legacy of the Yoruba race will no doubt be further preserved and strengthened,” he said.
Dr. Akande also called on the people of Oyo and neighboring communities to rally behind the new Alaafin, stressing the critical role traditional rulers play in Nigeria’s socio-political structure. He offered prayers for a peaceful, impactful, and enduring reign for the monarch.
