The Oyo State Government has dismissed media reports alleging the demise of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin.
On Monday night, some media outlets circulated claims that the revered monarch had passed away. However, in a swift response, the Oyo State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatunbosun, debunked the rumours, assuring the public that the Olubadan is alive and in good health.
Speaking to newsmen, Olatunbosun confirmed that he had spoken with Prince Olaseke Owolabi Olakulehin, a representative of the royal family at the coronation committee, who reaffirmed the monarch’s well-being.
“Yes, Olubadan is alive, hale, and hearty,” Olatunbosun stated.
The Oyo State Government urged the public to disregard the misinformation and refrain from spreading unverified news.
