The ancient city of Ibadan witnessed another historic moment yesterday as the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin Ige I, officially installed Engineer Olalekan Gbadebo Lasisi as the Mogaji of the Adebimpe Dynasty.
The official installation, held at the Olubadan Palace and followed by the ceremonial reception drew the presence of dignitaries, family members, community leaders, and well-wishers who gathered at the Royal Palace of Adebimpe Dynasty to celebrate the newest addition to the lineage of Mogajis in Ibadanland.
In a double honour, the Yoruba Council of Youth Worldwide (YCYW) also presented Engr. Olalekan Gbadebo Lasisi Adebimpe with the prestigious Omoluabi Pataki Award. The award is in recognition of his unwavering commitment to humanitarian service, community development, and the promotion of Yoruba cultural values.
Presenting the award on behalf of the YCYW, Asoju Odo Alawode Rahmon, who serves as the National Coordinator of the Council, highlighted the core objectives of the organization. He emphasized that the Omoluabi Pataki Award, endorsed by the Arole Oodua, Oba Babatunde Eniitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, the Ooni of Ife, is reserved for individuals who embody integrity, selflessness, and cultural pride in their everyday lives.
The newly installed Mogaji expressed gratitude to the Olubadan, the Adebimpe family, and all guests present. He pledged to uphold the legacy of his forebears and work tirelessly for the progress of his family, Ibadanland, and the Yoruba nation at large.
