The Executive Chairman of Ona Ara Local Government, Dr. Temitope Kolapo GLORIOUS, in the company of Traditional Rulers and other critical stakeholders, on Friday, 19th September 2025, undertook a sensitization tour of communities along the Ariyo–Akanran corridor, as the second phase of the Olorunsogo–Dagbolu Road dualization project formally commenced.
In a statement issued by the Chairman’s Press Secretary, Mr. Rahmon Alawode, the exercise was aimed at engaging affected citizens and ensuring voluntary compliance in the removal of structures encroaching on the designated road expansion path. Dr. GLORIOUS appealed for the cooperation of residents and property owners, emphasizing that the dualization project is a legacy infrastructure that will enhance accessibility, reduce traffic bottlenecks, and stimulate socio-economic development in Ona Ara Local Government.
The sensitization exercise had in attendance notable dignitaries including the Secretary to the Government, Hon. Babatunde Sunmonu, Chief of Staff, Hon. Isiaka Arinola; Baale Kure; Baale Gbeleyi; Mogajis; Head of Local Government Administration, Alhaja Ojewumi; Directors; Supervisor for Works, Hon. Adekola Adeniran; and Special Assistant on Works, Hon. Idris Gbedeogun, among others.
Dr. GLORIOUS reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of his administration to the New Era Agenda, assuring citizens that the project represents a major step towards infrastructural renewal and community development. He further noted that the cooperation of the people remains central to the timely delivery of the project.
The Ona Ara Local Government hereby solicits the continued support of all stakeholders as work progresses on this vital road infrastructure.
