The leadership of Nigerian Students Joint Campus Committee, Oyo Axis had sympathize with the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Ogbomosho students on the demise of one of their students to the hand of bandits as a result of insecurity in Ogbomoso.

It is regrettable that in the past few months, we have witnessed deadly attacks and kidnapping of students across higher institutions in Nigeria and recent attacks reported that a student of Ladoke Akintola University (LAUTECH) RACHEAL OLAPADE was kidnapped and killed by bandits.

The leadership of Nigerian Students Joint Campus Committee, Oyo Axis has risen in unity to demands justice from the leadership of Nigeria, irrespective of political parties, should come together to call off ASUU strike and insecurity in Nigeria.

We, therefore, call on the Federal Government to settle with ASUU and commence immediate proactive and practical actions in other to restore the confidence of Nigeria students in campuses and salvaging the deteriorating security situation in Nigeria. It’s devastated and heartbroken that His Excellence, President Muhammadu Buhari approves N1.4 billion to purchase vehicles for Niger Republic when Nigerian students are still at home due to ASUU strike.

As students, we know that the security of lives and welfare of the people is the primary responsibility of the government and as a result, we humbly appeal to our President, His Excellency, Muhamadu Buhari to step up and come to the rescue of the Nigerian students and the Nigeria society at large.

Our country is awry navigating into stateless society where life is unpleasant and brutish. We believe that if synergistic efforts are taken now, Nigeria will come out of these challenges stronger and better.

The leadership of National Association of Nigerian Students Joint Campus Committee, Oyo Axis, therefore, sympathize with the family of Racheal Olapade and the entire student of LAUTECH, May her soul rest in perfect peace.
