The Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, has commissioned a newly constructed gatehouse and a 500KVA electricity transformer donated by Hon. Akin Alabi, Member of the House of Representatives, representing Egbeda/Ona Ara Federal Constituency. The commissioning ceremony took place yesterday at the main entrance of the Olubadan Estate, Egbeda Local Government Area.
Freshvoice Newsmedia reports that the vibrant and well-attended event drew residents, community leaders, youth representatives, and political stakeholders, who gathered to celebrate the developmental milestone.
His Imperial Majesty, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin Ige I, who was ably represented by Surv. Abiodun Reuben Koleoso, Mogaji Ilori Koleoso, commended the residents and the estate’s project committee for their commitment to community development. In a symbolic gesture of royal support, the Olubadan announced a ₦500,000 donation toward ongoing and future initiatives within the estate, while encouraging residents to ensure the proper maintenance and security of the newly installed infrastructure.
The event was graced by several dignitaries, including the Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, Hon. Sikiru Sanda; Chairman, Oyo State Local Government Pension Board, Hon. Ademola Ige; and representatives of Hon. Akin Alabi.
Also present were a representative of the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo, and Delta, Alhaji Dawud Makanjuola De-Damak, who echoed the Olubadan’s remarks and commended the unity and proactive efforts of the residents. He pledged further financial contributions to support the estate’s development goals.
Other notable attendees included Mrs. Foluke Banjo and the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Egbeda Police Division, among others, all of whom praised the gesture and emphasized the importance of community-led development.
