The Jagun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, on the passing of his elder brother, Engineer Sunday Makinde.
In a statement issued today, Chief Sanusi described the loss of Engineer Sunday Makinde as a great tragedy not only to the Makinde family but also to the entire Oyo State, given his impactful contributions to society.
He said, “I join His Excellency Governor Seyi Makinde, the Makinde family, and the people of Oyo State in mourning the departure of a distinguished elder statesman, Engineer Sunday Makinde. His life of service, humility, and unwavering commitment to his family and community will always be remembered. This is indeed a challenging time, but we take solace in the fact that he lived an exemplary life.”
Chief Sanusi further prayed for divine comfort for the Makinde family, asking God to grant them the strength to bear this irreparable loss. He also prayed for the repose of Engineer Sunday Makinde’s soul, trusting that he will find eternal peace in the bosom of the Almighty.
“The Makinde family has been a pillar of hope and progress in Oyo State. It is our collective duty as a people to surround them with love and prayers during this difficult period,” he added.
