The JDS Support Group, a non-governmental movement dedicated to promoting the service-to-humanity vision of the Chief Executive Officer of Ilaji Group, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, has called on citizens particularly residents of Oyo State to turn out en masse for the forthcoming Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In a statement signed by the Group’s Convener, Mr. Rahmon Alawode, the JDS Support Group emphasized that the voter registration exercise is a crucial step in empowering citizens to make their voices heard in the democratic process.
According to the statement, the exercise scheduled to begin on Monday, 18th August 2025—will be conducted in two segments:
1. Online Pre-Registration: Starting from 18th August 2025, eligible voters can begin their registration process via http://cvr.inecnigeria.org.
2. In-Person Registration: Physical registration will commence shortly after at all INEC Local Government Area offices nationwide.
The Group urged all eligible citizens, especially first-time voters and those who need to update their voter information, to take advantage of the opportunity, noting that active participation in elections begins with voter registration.
“A credible election starts with a credible voter register. We are calling on the people of Oyo State to seize this opportunity, register, and ensure they are eligible to vote in future elections. Every vote matters, and registration is the first step to making it count,” the statement read.
The JDS Support Group reiterated its commitment to sensitizing and mobilizing the public on civic responsibilities, stressing that the group’s advocacy is part of its broader mission to foster inclusive governance and citizen participation.
