The Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Engr. ‘Seun Fakorede MNSE was at the opening of the 2022 Scouting and Coaching Programme which was held at Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resorts in the early hours of today.
The scouting and coaching programme is part of the commitment of the CEO of Ilaji Sports Resorts, Engr. Dotun Sanusi at promoting sporting activities in the State and the country at large. In November 2021, foreign scouts were at the resorts to select 10 players in Oyo State as facilitated and sponsored by the CEO of the Resorts.
While declaring the programme open, the Commissioner acknowledged the support and investment of the CEO of Ilaji Sports Resorts in promoting sporting activities in the State. The Commissioner was quoted to have said that “collaboration from private and corporate individuals is important in driving sports which would ultimately help empower the youths and send them off the streets.”
The Commissioner declared the scouting programme as “an amazing development which symbolise that the business of football is getting better.” He therefore charged the coaches to “showcase their talents and skills to the scouts for them to be taken to some other platform.”
