The Oyo Central ACCORD Senatorial Candidate, Engr. Nurudeen FAOZEY has describe the death of Sheikh Mas’ud Adebayo Ajokidero as a shock and what makes hearts bleed. His death came with an attendant vacuum that may be hard to fill by the entire Muslim community in Oyo.
In a press release personally signed by Engr. Nurudeen FAOZEY that made available to Freshvoice Newsmedia Friday morning, reads; I had personal interactions with the late Chief Imam, and I can confidently attest to his humane character. Sheikh Mas’ud Adebayo was an embodiment of humility, amiableness and humour.
In the comity of scholars, the Chief Imam of Oyo towered above his peers. He was vast in both pristine Islamic and temporal knowledge. He was a scholar with class – an erudite teacher with a touch of contemporary sophistication.
His death is a personal loss to me. I am utterly befuddled and perplexed. The people of Oyo have lost a rare gem. Sheikh Mas’ud has left indelible imprints in the hearts of a lot of religious adherents (Muslims and Christians).
We have taken his sudden demise as a divine wish. We cannot query God’s will upon the life of His slave. Our solemn request to Almighty Allah is to grant him eternal rest. May Allah give his family the fortitude to bear the loss. May Allah bless his soul and count him among the dwellers of paradise.
