The Jagunmolu Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, has made a heartfelt appeal to Nigerian students, urging them not to participate in the proposed nationwide protest. His remarks came during his speech at the Grand Finale of the Inter-Campus Debate Competition, organized by the National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS) JCC Oyo axis, held in his honor and in recognition of Governor Seyi Makinde at Ilaji Resort.
Chief Jubril Sanusi emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in building a great and better Nigeria. “I am ready to work with you to create a better land in Oyo State,” he stated, highlighting his commitment to supporting the youth and the state’s development.
He praised Governor Seyi Makinde for his exceptional leadership and dedication to public service. “Since his inception, Governor Seyi Makinde has not owed salaries, demonstrating his commitment to the welfare of the people,” Chief Sanusi noted. He further commended the Governor’s pivotal role in making Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) a state-owned university.
“I always stand to commend those who are doing well. Governor Makinde has been a distinguished figure in the oil and gas sector even before becoming Governor, and he continues to excel in his leadership role. He deserves our accolades,” Chief Sanusi remarked.
In conclusion, Chief Sanusi applauded the NANS Oyo leadership under Comrade Adegoke Ridwan Ademola for their efforts in reshaping the narrative of student organizations in the state. “You have brought us all together, including the service chiefs, which is a remarkable achievement,” he said.
