BREAKING: Makinde Orders Upward Review of Councilors Salary, To Now Get 350k Per Month – Govt Source
A source within government circle who craved indulgence to speak on condition of anonymity today confirmed to Sunrisebulletin.com that ward Councilors across the 33 Local Government Areas in Oyo state will soon start to receive increased monthly salary.

According to the source, Governor Seyi Makinde has directed that the current monthly salary structure of a councilor which is about N108,000 (one hundred and eight thousand naira) per month should be immediately reviewed upward.

The proposed review of the new monthly salary as directed by the Governor is about N350,00 (three hundred and fifty thousand naira).

The source who was part of a meeting held with the Oyo state Councilors Forum at the Secretariat today said the disclosure was made by the Deputy Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly, Mohammed Abiodun Fadeyi.
“It is true that Governor Makinde has given a directive for the upward review of Councilors Monthly salaries from they currently earn to about N350,000.
“The directive is official and works have already begun on the Governor’s directive. All concerned authorities will complete the paperworks and get back to the Governor for final approval before it can become effective.” The source said.
