Governor Seyi Makinde has approved the nomination of Alhaji (Chief) Yekini Abass Oladapo as the Babaloja General of Oyo state, Insideoyo.com reports.
This was contained in letter dated 11th of 11, 2022 signed by Chief Bayo Lawal, Honourable Commissioner of Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperatives, on Friday.
According to the letter, YK Abass is expected to use his wealth of experience to contribute to the growth of informal sector of the State economy and the general welfare of traders across the nooks and crannies of the State.
Similarly, a certificate of recognition which was duly signed by the governor was issued to Alhaji (Chief) Yekini Abass Oladapo as the Babaloja General of Oyo state.
The letter reads: “I am pleased to inform you that His Excellency, the State Executive Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, FNSE has graciously ratified your nomination by the State Market Leaders’ Council at its meeting of 27th September, 2022 as Babaloja General of Oyo State.
“2 Kindly see the nomination as well as the ratification as an opportunity for you to use your wealth of experience to contribute to the growth of informal sector of the State economy and the general welfare of traders across the nooks and crannies of the State.
“3. Congratulations on your well deserved appointment.”
Insideoyo.com that Alhaji Abass was installed by the Late Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji Aje Ogunguniso.
While reacting to the development, Alhaji Abass promised to use the opportunity to unite all traders in the state for development.
He urged all market leaders to cooperate for the betterment of the state and to support Governor Seyi Makinde.
