Unknown gunmen have reportedly murdered the senatorial candidate of the Labour Party for Enugu East, Barr. Oyibo Chukwu.
Chukwu was shot dead by yet-to-identified persons in Enugu while returning from a campaign trip.
Freshvoice also gathered that five other persons who were with him inside car were also killed.
Chukwu’s body was also set ablaze by his attackers. It was also gathered the three persons were in the car with him but the whereabouts of other occupants have not been known.
Information about the attack is still very sketchy but a top member of the party has confirmed it but said he should not be quoted until the family speaks.
It was also learned that the APC governorship candidate in the state, Uche Nnaji was also attacked at the spot where the Labour candidate was killed.
