The Yoruba Council of Youths Worldwide (YCYW) has extended heartfelt congratulations to Rt. Hon. Aliyu Zakari Idris on his election as the Speaker of the Nigerian Youth Parliament for its 6th Session. Zakari, who represents the Katsina Central Senatorial District, emerged victorious during the inauguration of the 6th Assembly.
This was contained in a statement signed by the YCYW National Coordinator, Asoju Odo Alawode Rahmon Akintunde, and made available to newsmen in Ibadan on Thursday morning. The Council lauded Zakari’s emergence and urged him to unite the Parliament towards championing policies and initiatives that will elevate the Nigerian youth constituency.
Alawode, who also serves as the Director of National Orientation and Social Development of the National Youth Stakeholders Forum, further charged the newly elected Speaker to prioritize youth development and empowerment, ensuring that young Nigerians have a formidable voice in governance and national progress.
The YCYW expressed confidence in Zakari’s leadership and pledged its support towards initiatives aimed at fostering unity, development, and opportunities for Nigerian youth.
