Dr YUNUS ABIODUN AKINTUNDE was born on the 6th of March, 1962 in the ancient town of Oyo, Oyo state, Nigeria.
He obtained his primary education at Ansar-Ud-Deen Model Primary School in Oyo town, where he got his Primary School Leaving Certificate.
He thereafter proceeded to Oranyan Grammar School in Oyo, where he obtained his West African Examination Council, WAEC result.
In furtherance of his Education, he proceeded to Ibadan Polytechnic where he got his National Diploma certificate in Physics and Electronics. Thereafter, he proceeded to the Lagos state University, LASU, where he bagged a BSC (Hon) in Physics. In the same Lagos State University, he obtained a Masters in Public Administration (MPA).
Later, he went to University of Ibadan where he got an Msc in Energy studies. In the same university of Ibadan, he obtained a PhD in Energy and Environment.
Moreover, as a Grassroots personality, AKINTUNDE’s love for his people is legendary, for which he has been rewarded with a number of political appointments, Thus;
1. He served as Commissioner at Oyo state Civil Service Commission between 1999-2003, and During this period, he was able to facilitate the appointment of over 72 graduates from Oyo federal constituency and ensured their career progression and development.
2. Commissioner for Works and Transport of Oyo state between 2011-2012, and During this period, he initiated and completed several new road projects across the State. He also facilitated and supervised the rehabilitation of several existing roads across the State.
3. Executive Assistant to the Governor of Oyo state between 2014-2015. During this period, he promoted Inter and Intra governmental relations. He supported the state government on strategic policy plans, monitoring and implementation. He also supported the state government in realizing it’s strategic objectives, among others.
4. Community and Social Responsibility- At federal college of Education, he facilitated the following
A. Vocational and Technical Education building
B. Student affairs complex
C. 500 seater lecture Theater I & II
D. Construction of Roads and Drainages
E. Indoor Sport complex
F. Guidance and Counselling Building, among Others
5. Solar Powered Street Light; He was a major facilitator, hence he made provision for
i Pakoyi-Enuonoba-Kolobo Road in Oyo West
ii Ladindin-Isokun-Ojungbodu Road in Oyo West
iii Ikunsin Village ( Ogo-Oluwa)
iv Ibere community (Surulere)
v Shasah Market (Akinyele)

6. Construction of a block of 3 classrooms with borehole and toilet: He facilitated this project in the following places, which are;
i. Tose community Primary School, Tose ( Akinyele)
ii. AUD Primary School, Ilora (Atiba)
iii. St Peter’s Primary School, Odan (Egbeda)

7. Construction of a block of 2 classrooms with office and store: He facilitated in Pakoyi community Primary School (Enuoranoba)
And also, AUD PRIMARY School (Alagbon)

8. Solar Powered Borehole: He facilitated Iroko community opposite Iroko Grammar School, Iroko (Akinyele)

9. ICT Centres(Knowledge Access Venue): He facilitated Oranyan Grammar School in Oyo, Abiodun Atiba Memorial Secondary School in Oyo, Ansar-Ud-Deen Grammar School, Opapa in Oyo, Centre for Petroleum, Energy and Economics Law (CPEEL) in the University of Ibadan
Among others.
10. Social Responsibility-He was a Patron of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (Oyo state Chapter)
B. He was the President Centre for Petroleum Energy and Economics Law Students Association (CPEELSA)
C. He served as the National Secretary of National Council of Muslim Youth Organisation, Nigeria ( NACOMYO)
D. He served as Secretary of World Assembly of Muslim Youths(WAMY)
E. HE was the First President of Association of Science Students, Lagos state University, LASU,
Among others.
11. Political Front: In the year 2014, He was the Chairman, APC State Registration Committee for Osun state.
He was also Chairman, APC State Congress Committee for Kwara State, and
Member, APC House of Representatives (Serving member) Aspirants Screening Committee.
With the above facts ably stipulated about Hon YUNUS ABIODUN AKINTUNDE (phd), one would understand how reliable and competent he could be especially when assigned to him an official assignment, which probably he has delivered and still doing more in making sure that the good people of Oyo central senatorial courtesy gets the best when elected.
